Q. Who qualifies for the Roehl Honor Program?

A. Approved veterans who have exited within the previous 12 months qualify for both the free CDL training and apprenticeship program. Veterans whose exit has been more than 12 months can qualify for the apprenticeship program. Please call us if you require more information. National Guards and Reservists currently serving or who have exited within the previous 12 months can also qualify for acceptance into the Roehl Honor Program.

Q. Are there any restrictions on my date of separation?

A. Yes. To qualify for free CDL training, your separation date must be within the previous 12 months. This restriction only applies to the free CDL training. There are no restrictions on your date of separation to qualify for the apprenticeship program.

Q. Can I still be part of the Roehl Honor Program if my separation from the military is more than a year?

A. Yes. However, you won’t be entitled to the free CDL training. You will have to pay a $2,400 tuition fee. Tuition assistance and reimbursement programs are available.

Q. Are there any contracts I need to sign?

A. Absolutely none. If you’re accepted into the Roehl Honor Program, you don’t have to sign any type of contract to enjoy the free training Roehl will provide.

Q. Will I have to pay Roehl for the free CDL training if I don’t stay for a specified period of time?

A. No. Regardless of how long you are with us, you won’t have to pay us back for the training.

Q. Are there any special driver’s license requirements?

A. You need a Class A Commercial Drivers License to drive tractor/trailer units. The free CDL training Roehl provides will prepare you to test for your Class A CDL. The Department of Transportation regulations require you to have a CDL permit from your primary state of residence before you receive any tractor-trailer driving instructions. You will need your permit before you can begin your free CDL training.

Q. How often are Roehl’s free CDL courses conducted?

A. Courses start every Monday, with the exception of holiday weeks.

Q. How many other students will there be in my class?

A. Each class typically has six to nine students.

Q. Where will I have to go for my free CDL training?

A. Currently you will have to go to the Roehl Driver Training Center in Marshfield, Wisconsin to receive your free CDL training.

Q. What about lodging during my three weeks of free CDL training?

A. Roehl is able to arrange your lodging at a nominal rate.

Q. Are meals provided?

A. No. Meals are not provided by Roehl. But, you can easily purchase your meals from the lunch service that comes to Roehl daily.
